Hyde Creek Watershed Society – Fish Clipping
Our friends at the Hyde Creek Watershed Society sent us these photos to share!
On July 10, fifteen members of the Hyde Creek Watershed Society headed to the hatchery to help with fish clipping.
Fish clipping is when the adipose fin on the fry in the hatchery is removed, in order to identify hatchery fish for recreational fishing. It also allows the Watershed Society members to document numbers of returning adult coho in the future.
In record time, the members clipped 6,917 fish in just under four hours.
The Hyde Creek Watershed Society is a group of concerned citizens interested in preserving and enhancing fish and wildlife in the Hyde Creek Watershed. For more information, visit hydecreek.org.
