Explore… the Lower Marsh at Minnekhada Park
The Lower Marsh at Minnekhada Regional Park is along the Lodge Trail – a quick, easy walk from Quarry Road to Minnekhada Lodge and back. The 2.1km walk offers a great opportunity to spot wildlife along the marsh.
The afternoon I was there, we could hear the frogs as soon as we stepped onto the trail. There were ducks wading in the marsh, and lots of birds. We could hear a splashing in the water, and spotted a beaver!
Minnekhada Park offers lots of hiking trails, from the flat, easy stroll through the Lower Marsh trail to the more challenging hike of the High Knoll (which offers some phenomenal views!).
