Wesbild is committed to planning new Foothills at Burke Mountain neighbourhoods in keeping with the community values of the Northeast Coquitlam Area Plan. We are after neighbourhoods that will be models of sustainable development, in keeping with the economic, environmental, and social prosperity of Coquitlam.
Our involvement in Coquitlam and record of giving back to the community is something that we are very proud of. We’re here for the long run. Naturally, we take our responsibilities as a corporate citizen very seriously, as we have done since we arrived in 1981.
Some examples of our community support:
- The Evergreen Cultural Centre
- SHARE Family and Community Services
- Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce
- The Coquitlam Foundation
- The United Way
If your community group or non-profit organization is looking for support or assistance we may be in a position to help. Please email jderbyshire@wesbild.com.
Environmental Stewardship recognized for excellence.
Wesbild’s commitment to the environment is also demonstrated by our efforts over the years in Westwood Plateau, where we have planted over 10,000 trees and created almost 700 acres of green parks and community forest since 1990.
To prevent damage to the five fish-bearing creeks crossing Westwood Plateau, Wesbild developed a set of procedures that minimized environmental impacts both during and after construction. These innovative techniques have been recognized with several awards from groups such as the Audobon Society and the Urban Development Institute, and have since been adopted as the standard for responsible development in sensitive environments.
